YouTube video sharing comes to Snapchat for Android

After adding the ability to share your current YouTube Music playlist or track, you can now directly share YouTube videos to Snapchat for Android and iOS.

Announced in an official blog post, this feature means that copying and pasting is no longer necessary thanks to direct integration into the YouTube share sheet. This should mean that sending clips to friends or adding video links to Story posts is an easier process than before.

Starting today, all Snapchatters on iOS and Android can seamlessly share their favorite YouTube videos with their friends directly through the Snapchat camera – no more copy-pasting!

This is actually the very first time that YouTube links on Snapchat will have a mini-player sticker or animation. If you send or receive a Snapchat with an embedded YouTube link, simply tap the sticker to open the video in the YouTube app or in a browser, depending on your device settings or the recipient’s settings.

It’s the first time that YouTube links can be shared visually to Snapchat stories and individual snaps, while accessing the camera and full suite of Snapchat creative tools for self-expression. Our actionable YouTube stickers take Snapchatters straight to the video in the YouTube app or their favorite mobile browser.

The process is very simple: just open the YouTube app on your Android phone and press the “Share” button. At the very top of the YouTube share sheet you will now see the Snapchat logo – tapping it will open right into the app and let you place a recent video, photo or story. There’s no excuse for sending grainy videos when you can send the real deal now.
