YouTube, the video streaming platform with millions of users across the globe, tends to seem tricky when it comes to downloading content (videos) from the platform. A Google-owned video streaming website has many features, but we picked the tips to help you download videos to your smart device from the platform.

We have found some good solutions to download YouTube videos through several options which are not available on the Google Play Store. We bring you a platform named ‘TubeMate’ which is a third party download site.

Here are some tips to install TubeMate, which is a free application (with limited advertising) for Android devices (smartphones and tablets).

  • Visit and tap on one of the verified download sites
  • Click the Install App button to install the app
  • Click ‘OK’ for the warning about the .apk file which may damage your phone
  • Click on ‘Open; once downloaded
  • You will get an “Installation Blocked” message option on your device. The user will have to click on “Settings” and search for unknown sources. Once you find the box, click ‘OK’
  • Click to install
  • Once the application has been downloaded to your device (smartphone or tablet), open the application and accept the terms of use
  • Now open YouTube and determine the video you want to download. Copy the video URL and paste the URL into TubeMate
  • Click the red download button
  • Select the quality level at which you want your video to be downloaded
  • After selecting the quality, click on the red download button
  • The video will be downloaded. Now users can access the video in Files or My Files app of Android device.
